I had never heard of, or even thought about using plastic boxes instead of cardboard when moving house. So when I came across information about plastic moving boxes to pack your household items into, I was intrigued.

I used to be the type of person who was gung ho when I had a new project. In the case of moving home (which I have done way too many times, as well as moving countries) I would pack well in advance of the move date, be super organized and then after the move, I had run out of steam. This would lead to the boxes being my new decor for way too long!

The eco boxes are a great idea and what I like about them is this:

  •  They are eco friendly (each plastic moving box will be re-used hundreds 

          of times before being fully recycled).

  • Stackable – so you save space
  • You do not need to try and dispose of them after your move
  • Cheaper than buying cardboard boxes

As a professional organizer I thought this is an excellent service that I need to offer my clients. Clients will rent the boxes from us and we will pack their household items ready for their move.  This way they will have more energy to unpack and be organized sooner, which is a great feeling.

Calgary is becoming a city where we are increasingly conscience of recycling, being eco friendly and of course being able to spend more time doing the things we love. Cardboard boxes can cost around $4 a box and they are awkward to carry. However the eco boxes rented with our packing service are $3 per box, easy to carry and you do not have to dispose or break them down after the move.
